    Who I am

Over twenty years of experience in the field and a passion for my work.

After graduating as a wine technician from the Conegliano Veneto school, I qualified as an oenologist in 1992, but my experience began several years earlier.

I was born in Certaldo in Tuscany, in a family that had been involved in wine for generations, my grandfather was an innkeeper, the other a farmer, my father was a wine-bottler, and in our home the smell of milk on my mother's hands mingled with the smell of wine.

I grew up immersed in this world from dawn to dusk. I started working during my studies in the family business and, after graduating in 1981 in Conegliano Veneto, I attended several specialised courses at the universities of Bordeaux and Montpellier.

I trained in the field, starting freelancing in 1988, first in collaboration with renowned oenologists, and then on my own.

In 1991 my first daughter Marta, today a cardiologist, was born and in 1994 Viola, today a Biomedical Engineer, was born.

Over the years, I have collaborated with the University of Florence, and also with the consortia of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti Classico, and Chianti Colli Senesi. I am a judge for the approval of some Tuscan DOCGs, and a qualified judge at Centro Studi Assaggiatori Brescia. My skills focus on the technical management of all wine production phases, both viticultural and oenological, with the aim of achieving the best quality possible.

Due to my constant attendance of professional updating programmes I have gained experience and a high level of professionalism in both the viticultural and oenological fields, as can be proven every day in the practice required by the companies I constantly follow.

    My Philosophy

Knowing how to listen to the people who work in your company every day, observing the colours of the land and the context in which a vineyard lives is fundamental to producing wines with unique characteristics.

    My Philosophy

    My Philosophy

Knowing how to listen to the people who work in your company every day, observing the colours of the land and the context in which a vineyard lives is fundamental to producing wines with unique characteristics.

But I am even more certain that a good winemaker must, first and foremost, know how to bring out the best characteristics of the grapes he or she works with.

The quality of a wine is almost totally determined by the quality of the grapes, the rest depends on cleanliness, technique, and attention to detail.

What I try to do every day is to fully understand the potential of an area and its vineyard, the sensitivity and approach of the producer, and finally the care and dedication of those who physically work in the vineyard and cellar.

Because only through teamwork are wines with unique and unrepeatable characteristics born.
